- Madison Technologies specialises in the supply of communications infrastructure products for the Professional Broadcast / Audio Visual, Building Services and Telecommunications Industries. Headquartered in Brisbane, Madison has offices and warehouse facilities throughout Australia, with over 100 staff and is a leader in its industry.
- Madison had achieved considerable success in it specific niche markets and keen to grow through strategic acquisitions that leveraged its distribution capability and client base and expanded its product range into growth sectors.
- We were engaged by our customer help develop and execute a pro-active acquisition strategy.
- InterFinancial’s lead advisory role encompassed the following:
- Working with management in a series of workshops to review strategic objectives and define an acquisition that fitted those objectives;
- Review industry participants to identify potential targets and, in conjunction with Madison, develop a target list;
- Initial approaches to potential targets and information gathering, including exchange of confidentiality agreements;
- Meetings with targets and initial reviews of financial and corporate information; and
- Assistance with the development of Terms Sheets, indicative valuations and general guidance on due diligence, sale and purchase agreements and other commercial matters.
- The process culminated in the successful acquisition Paqworks, a distributor of highly specialised Industrial IT and communications equipment.
- The acquisition of Paqworks met strategic objectives in that it increased Madison’s exposure to the industrial products sector, complementing (but not overlapping) its existing product range and adding new customers.
